Aijaz Ali Shah 'Aijaz' Rashidi: The real name of the famous Sufi poet Aijaz Ali Shah 'Aijaz' was Pir Syed Mohiuddin Shah Rashidi, but he himself was known as Aijaz Ali Shah 'Aijaz'. He was born in the house of Syed Ehsanullah Shah Rashidi on Monday night in village Pir Jhando, Saeedabad, district Matiari. He didn't studied in school after the first class. His father Syed Ehsanullah Shah was a scholar of high standing who died on 15th Sha'ban 1358H/30th September 1939. At that time, Aijaz Ali Shah was only 10 years old. Aijaz Ali Shah received spiritual education from his father. Seeing his spiritual secrets in his childhood, his father used to call him 'Bahwal', which name he has used as a pseudonym somewhere in his poetry. He was associated with the 51st Qadri line and considered the old saint Syed Sikandar Ali Shah Mardan Shah as his mentor, which he has also expressed in his poems. Aijaz Ali Shah started reciting poetry at the age of 15. Aijaz Shah 'Aijaz' has written poetry not only in Sindhi language but also in Saraiki, Urdu and Hindi languages. His book of poetry named "Sakhan E Aijaz" was published in 2003 by Bizm E Aijaz. The abridgement of "Sukhan E Aijaz" was published in 2014 by Roshani Publication under the name of "Makhzn E Aijaz". His published poetry includes 838 verses, 587 verses, 164 ghazals, 26 verses, 3 thirty letters (c letters) and 38 nine-style poems. His song has been sung in the voice of famous artists. He has experimented a lot with the genre of classical poetry and Sufi poetry. Along with the beauty of the theme and purpose of his poems, the perfection of art is also seen. Syed Muhammad Ashraf Shah, son of Aijaz Shah, wrote a research paper titled "Technical and Intellectual Study of the Houses of Aijaz Shah Rashidi". Received the degree of Phil. He died on 16 June 1998 in Hyderabad. His mausoleum is located at a distance of 3 kilometers from the present Saeedabad in Dargah Sharif Pir Jhando, the newly mentioned village of his father. At present, their children are residing in the village of 'Aijazabad' in Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah) district. The series of Sufi Raag Virag concerts continues today under the patronage of Syed Sajjad Rasool Rashidi. The monthly Sufi festival is celebrated on the twenty-first night of the moon and Urs Mubarak on the twenty-first night of Safar.
