Imdad Hussaini (1940–2022) was a Pakistani poet and writer known for his contributions to Sindhi and Urdu literature. He was born on March 10, 1940, in Hyderabad, Sindh, British India. His literary work included poetry, short stories, and lyrical compositions that were performed by notable singers on Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television. Imdad Hussaini grew up in Sindh, near the Indus River, which likely influenced his poetic sensibilities. He earned an M.A. in Sindhi literature from the University of Sindh Jamshoro.

Aside from his creative pursuits, Hussaini was also an educator and scholar, working in various literary institutions in Sindh, including the Sindhi Adabi Board, the Sindh Text Book Board, and the Institute of Sindhology. He served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Sindhi Language Authority. Hussaini was involved in translating and compiling works, such as translating Mirza Qaleech Baig's novel "Zeenat" and the historical epic tale of Sindh, "Dodo Chanesar."

He also compiled texts like "Sindh je Deeni Adab jo Catalogue" and "Mual Manhoo Jeeari Peeda." Throughout his life, Imdad Hussaini received recognition for his literary contributions. He was awarded the Pride of Performance Award by the President of Pakistan in 2003. He also received the Josh Malihabadi Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007 and the Allama Iqbal Award for Urdu poetry in 2016 for his work, including the book "Dhoop Kiran."
