seemaab sifat qalab Aa furqat jo sabab Aa,
hi hijar e mayoos tabiat jo sabab Aa.

khushboo'a mun maan kaan khutti thi chho? puchhen tho,
ae dost! eho gullan je suhabat jo sabab Aa.

kamchor-u banrnya khorr jo kamzor-u thiyaa khaataa,
ekeehen sadi'ea mein eho murawat jo sabab Aa.

hin umar mein jaakhorr aen mahnat na chhadde mun,
mahboob, awhan saanr muhabat jo sabab Aa.

maan tosaan dil je gaalh karanr'u tho ghuraan lekan,
hoo saamhu wetho Aa, so boriyat jo sabab Aa.

dolat ta kanhin khe aham banai na saghy thi,
insaan jo ikhlaaq e azmat jo sabab Aa.

har roz dazzan shair likhanr raand ta nahey,
rashid! hi muhinje zehan je marmat jo sabab Aa.

dozakh duniyaa barnji baag'u bahar ta baaqi chhaa

Rashid Morai (1944–2014), Sindhi poet, activist, and teacher, celebrated for his revolutionary poetry and Sindhi nationalism. Authored iconic books and songs.
Syed Rashid Ali Shah was born on March 5, 1944, in Joraloe village, Taluka Moro, Naushahro Feroze District, was a Sindhi poet of resistance, activist, and teacher. His father, Syed Saeed Ali “Khadim,” a folk and classical poet, relocated the family to Moro town after their ancestral village was destroyed by floods. Rashid Morai completed his Master of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees and began his professional career as a teacher.

Raised in a poetic household, Rashid inherited his literary sensibilities from his father and brothers, Syed Roshan Ali Shah (pen name Roshan) and Syed Masoom Ali Shah (pen name Nimarno). He wrote revolutionary poetry and songs, many of which were performed by renowned Sindhi singers. His lines, such as دل جي ويران رڻ تي ڪڪر بانورا، ٿورڙو به وسين ها ته ڇا ٿي ٿيئي (Clouds wandering over the desolate desert of the heart, if only you rained a little, what would have happened?), reflect his resistance and nationalist sentiments.

As a close companion of G. M. Syed, a mystic philosopher and pioneer of the Sindhi national movement, Rashid Morai’s work often centered on Sindhi nationalism. His notable publications include Sindhrri Jo Sodau (1970), Mahndi Sanda Geet (1986), and Dil jo Shahr (1993), with over 50 manuscripts still unpublished.

Rashid Morai passed away on March 24, 2014, leaving behind a legacy of poetic resistance and cultural pride.
