He is widely acknowledged as one of Pakistan's preeminent poets, with a profound influence on the literary landscape of Sindh and beyond. His extensive body of work includes over 50 books encompassing poetry, biographies, plays, and short stories, composed in both Sindhi and Urdu languages. Notably, his translation of Shah Jo Risalo, authored by the 18th-century Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, from Sindhi to Urdu, solidified his position as a distinguished authority in his field.

Shaikh Ayaz's literary contributions earned him the prestigious Sitara-i-Imtiaz award, a testament to his enduring impact on literature. Legacy: In 2018, in recognition of his immense literary legacy, a university was established bearing his name, Shaikh Ayaz University. Early Life: Born as Mubarak Ali, Shaikh Ayaz pursued a career in law, eventually serving as the Vice Chancellor of Sindh University. He was also a passionate poet and writer. He tied the knot with Iqbal Begum, a notable Sindhi poet. In his renowned work, Shah Jo Risalo, he eloquently chronicled his life's trials and tribulations.
