asan e kawi kaak kota jaa ranra,
asan saan e moomal kayaa mohh marnaa.

asan e oondah saan uljhon aen attkoon,
asan je na ddaat jaa ddeyaa ujahanra.

asan khanbh khoohe na khayalan jaa chhadiya,
asan je andar jaa aqaab uddanraa.

asan ta bhittai ea sanda shair ggaya,
awhan e parho piyaa parayaa purana.

naki dar dhariyeen kanhin jo jhalyuseen,
nako nosyaaseen waji naam nanraan.

wisaaryaan na aahin asan wanu watan jaa,
bhulyaasin na dode aen bhoongar jaa bhanraa.

naki lobh lalach asankahy nimayu,
naki bet dohaa asaanja wikanraa.

khani bbatt men laat wattan khe woworray,
asan e pirah jaa kayaa hina puchhanra.

sabhai sindh tunhinje tasbeeh parhan piyaa,

Hasan Daras, born on September 5, 1966, in Mashaikh Hothi village, Tando Allahyar, was a representative of modern Sindhi poetry. His lineage traces back to the Laka caste, with his family receiving the title "Daras" due to spiritual ties with the Suhrawardiya family. Hasan's poetic journey began at the age of 16, influenced by his grandfather, Muhammad Hasan Daras, a renowned poet whose works were widely celebrated in spiritual gatherings.

Education and Career

Hasan completed his early education in his village and matriculated from Muslim High School, Tando Allahyar. He later earned his master's degree in Sindhi literature from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro. His poetry, infused with music, intellectual depth, and Sufism, resonated with the masses and reflected his deep love for Sindh's history, culture, and geography.

Notable Works

Hasan Daras authored several iconic poems, including *Adi Hai Ajayan Kilian* (dedicated to Benazir Bhutto), *Nangi Sarmad Ji Huzur Mein*, *The Shadow of All Sindh Fairy*, and *A Poet's Homeland*. On June 15, 2011, Hasan Daras tragically passed away due to an accident in Hyderabad, leaving Sindh in mourning. His poetry collection, *Hasan Daras Jo Risalo*, was posthumously published by the Indus Foundation, ensuring his work lives on as an inspiration for generations to come.
