Imaart ishiq je totay mun khe ajab aahe,
zameen dozz thiyarn jo na koi sabab aahe.

jaddo jahaaz hi jeewan jo kesitain hali,
samoond wakt men keddo wado gazhab aahe.

faqeer shair haqeeran jaa piyaa pireen parhnda,
kamaai ” keen “ jo b konn ko kutib aahe.

dhighi Aa raah magar mukhtasir musaafir tun,
udaas aadmi to laai rugo adab aahe.

akhiyun awhan joon niharan piyun nazaran maan,
lage tho rabtay men raat deenhan rab aahe.

asan ta sij lahanr jo b Aa ditho manzar,
ajoko jeko buddo so rugo qalab aahe.

uho e soor sasuai aen uho e paarn puhnoo,
uhoee haarho، uho hott، uho hub aahe.

asal nasal men mile ishiq je patti virso,

Hasan Daras, born on September 5, 1966, in Mashaikh Hothi village, Tando Allahyar, was a representative of modern Sindhi poetry. His lineage traces back to the Laka caste, with his family receiving the title "Daras" due to spiritual ties with the Suhrawardiya family. Hasan's poetic journey began at the age of 16, influenced by his grandfather, Muhammad Hasan Daras, a renowned poet whose works were widely celebrated in spiritual gatherings.

Education and Career

Hasan completed his early education in his village and matriculated from Muslim High School, Tando Allahyar. He later earned his master's degree in Sindhi literature from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro. His poetry, infused with music, intellectual depth, and Sufism, resonated with the masses and reflected his deep love for Sindh's history, culture, and geography.

Notable Works

Hasan Daras authored several iconic poems, including *Adi Hai Ajayan Kilian* (dedicated to Benazir Bhutto), *Nangi Sarmad Ji Huzur Mein*, *The Shadow of All Sindh Fairy*, and *A Poet's Homeland*. His poems celebrated the beauty of Sindh, explored universal themes, and addressed contemporary socio-political issues, such as his 1983 masterpiece against Zia-ul-Haq's dictatorship.

Hasan married Iram Mehboob, daughter of renowned storyteller Mahtab Mehboob, in 1993. They had three children: Rohal, Chizal, and Ridam. In 2009, he initiated a UNDP-supported project to preserve and grow the Sindhi Lakki horse breed, making a lasting impact on Sindh's heritage.

On June 15, 2011, Hasan Daras tragically passed away due to an accident in Hyderabad, leaving Sindh in mourning. His poetry collection, *Hasan Daras Jo Risalo*, was posthumously published by the Indus Foundation, ensuring his work lives on as an inspiration for generations to come.
