The poet Hasan Daras, the representative of modern Sindhi poetry in New Tehi, was born on September 5, 1966, in the village of Mashaikh Hothi, taluk and district of Tundi Elhiar, in the house of Haji Ghulam Rasool Daras. The elders of Hasan Daras are originally from the Laka caste, but their grandfather Mashaikh Huthi Laki (died 1408) started to be called 'Dars' after receiving the title of caliphate and 'Dars' from Multani nobles of the Suhrawardiya family. Hassan Daras' father Ghulam Rasool Daras (1905-1973) already had four daughters and two sons from two marriages and Hassan Daras was his last child. He was also named after his grandfather Muhammad Hasan Duras (1884-1942), so he was called 'Grandfather' instead of Grandfather. Hasan received his primary education from the village and completed his education from Middle School Mashaikh (Qazi Ahmed) till the 8th standard, after which he completed his Matriculation from Muslim High School, Tandi Al Hiyar. Perhaps this interest was inherited from him, as his grandfather Muhammad Hassan Daras was also a famous poet of Madh and Mawold and his poetry was sung in Dargah Mashaikh Huthi and other fairs and gatherings. He started writing poetry at the age of 16 and later became the leading poet of his generation. Music, fluency and intellectual consistency in his poetry are of the perfect level. In his poetry, there is also the color of Sufism, along with his love for nature and Sindh. Hasan Duras has also written many poems of international nature, including 'Adi Hai Ajayan Kilian' (Written on the Martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto), 'Raqasa', 'Jadain Wasalan Ji Kailash Wadi', 'Harko Dard Hajar Hir Aswad', 'Nagi Sarmad'. In the presence of', 'A Poet's Homeland', 'Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto', 'The Shadow of All Sindh Fairy' etc. Hasan Duras has presented the history and geography of Sindh in his poems in a very interesting and beautiful way. His poem 'Shadow of All Sindh Fairy' is a good example of this. His poetry is well remembered by his contemporaries and especially the youth. As popular as Hasan's poetry is in his short life, it will be difficult for any other poet of the new era. In 1983, he wrote a masterpiece against Asia's model dictator, Zia-ul-Haq. He impressed Sheikh Ayaz for the first time by presenting his poem 'Nangi Sarmad Ji Huzur Mein' at the Press Club Hyderabad in 1987. Hassan Daras married Iram Mehboob, the daughter of famous storyteller Mahtab Mehboob, on February 4, 1993, from whom he has two sons, Rohal and Chizal, and one daughter, Ridam. In 2009, Hasan Duras started a project to save the breed of Sindhi Lakki horses and increase their growth with the financial support of UNDP's GEF Small Grant Program. He played an effective role throughout Sindh and Pakistan through the network of this project. Hassan Daras, on June 15, 2011, was the victim of an accident at Wadhu Wah in Asarville Hyderabad and spent several hours at two police stations, Qasimabad and G. oh RJ was injured due to boundary dispute and died due to profuse bleeding. Due to his sudden death, the whole of Sindh mourned. Writers and poets of Sindh called the death of Hasan Daras a great tragedy and he was laid to rest in the ancient graveyard of his ancestors in the village of Mashaikh Huthi. Hassan Daras' poetry book 'Hasan Daras Jo Risalo' has been published this year by Indus Foundation after his death, which is edited by Iram Mehboob.
