Hussain Bux Khadim, son of Pir Bux Bhangar, was born on 15 January 1930 in Arazi village near Sehwan. He settled in Hala and became associated first with Makhdoom Ghulam Muhammad and later with Makhdoom Muhammad Zaman Talib-ul-Moula, whose companionship inspired his poetry and gave him the pen name Khadim. He composed Sindhi poetry including Kafis and ghazals and performed both his own poetry and that of Talib-ul-Moula. He trained in music under the renowned singer Misri Faqir and became known for Sufi singing with the yaktaro and chapri. His performances were recorded by Radio Pakistan Hyderabad, with “To Dilri Yaar Dhatari” among his best-known works. He performed in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, France, and the United States and received the Latif Award in 1988, along with other honors. He died on 12 March 1992 after a musical gathering at the shrine of Muhammad Faqir Khatian.
